Spandex Leggings
Spandex leggings are stretch leggings that contain elastane — also called spandex or Lycra in some contexts — blended with a main fiber such as nylon, polyamide, polyester or cotton. Spandex is the elastic component, not usually the whole fabric.
Read →Leggings TypesFront Seam vs No-Front-Seam Leggings
A front seam helps shape the center front; a no-front-seam pattern removes that visible stitched line for a smoother panel. Neither construction is universally better — rise, gusset, fabric recovery and overall fit still decide how the garment behaves in motion.

Seamless leggings reduce conventional cut-and-sew seams, often through circular or engineered knitting. The term does not mean literally seam-free, and it is not the same as simply removing the front seam.

Shiny leggings use fiber, yarn and finishing choices that reflect more light than matte fabric. “Spandex” describes the elastic component, not the entire textile.

Footed leggings extend over the foot, creating an uninterrupted line and preventing the hem from riding up.

Capri leggings finish below the knee or around mid-calf depending on the design and wearer proportions.

Flare leggings fit through the upper leg and widen below the knee, so inseam and footwear matter more than on tapered leggings.

Compression leggings are designed to apply a closer, more supportive fit, but the term is used loosely outside medical-grade garments.

Leather-look leggings use coatings, films or surface finishes to imitate leather while retaining stretch.
Read →Leggings TypesWhite Leggings
White leggings create a clean high-contrast look but reveal fabric stretch, underwear contrast and stains more readily than dark colors.
Read →Leggings TypesHigh-Waisted Leggings
High-waisted leggings are intended to sit above the natural hip line, but actual rise height differs widely across brands.
Read →Leggings TypesAnkle-Length Leggings
Ankle leggings aim to end near the ankle rather than above it. Your preferred inseam is the most reliable way to compare them.
Read →Leggings TypesScrunch Leggings
Scrunch leggings use gathering or seam construction at the back to emphasize contour.
